As part of our curriculum, we embarked on a creative endeavor inspired by Ornette Coleman's Free Jazz: A Collective Improvisation, delving into the pulsating energy of Soho on a Saturday night. Our project took the form of a short experimental documentary, meticulously crafted to intertwine the urban fabric with the cacophony of Coleman's vivid musical expression. Drawing upon the philosophical insights of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari's Anti-Oedipus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia, we sought to capture the anarchic spirit and multiplicity inherent in both the bustling streets and Coleman's improvisational compositions. Each participant equipped with a camera and the ethereal sounds of Coleman in their ears, we traversed the nocturnal landscape, allowing the music to guide our lens and frame our perceptions, forging a dynamic correlation between sight, sound, and the urban psyche
